Our Staff

 

Emission Letlalo is from the province of Limpopo. She is 29 and the single mother of one daughter, Siphiwe (2 years old). Emission is the Program Administrator, compiling reports, filing, typing documents, handling petty cash, and assisting in the Advice Office.

 

“The other important thing is that we are working with community members from different backgrounds and we assist them in different ways as they come with different problems. I serve people with helpful info and give advice where needed. I hope God will bless me and my fellow staff members for what we have already done in our community as we would like to do more!”

 

 

Sandra Matlala is from Mamelodi in the province of Gauteng. She now lives in Nellmapius. She’s 34 and has one little boy, Amogelang, who is 3 ½ years old. Sandra is happily single. She serves as the Project Coordinator and Computer Trainer at BEAM, facilitating and overseeing projects and teaching our three-month computer literacy course.



“I was a volunteer at first then I was adopted into BEAM Africa Network.... BEAM was sent by God cause they took me in as a child in their house and family and also as an employee. When I wake up in the morning I am motivated and passionate to come to work!”
 

 

 

Louise Meintjes is from Pretoria. She is married with one little boy, Alex (2 years). Louise is the Training Coordinator at BEAM, discovering needs for skills in the community, finding students and sponsorships, and managing the training department.

 

“What I like about BEAM is that we function as a family.”

 

 

 

Carmen Witthöft is from Kwa-Zulu Natal. She is 31, single, and has no kids. She is the Drop-In Centre Coordinator at BEAM, managing the services for the children.

 

“I love getting to work with the children. I love being involved in their lives, and also the lives of their care workers and guardians. I love people.”

 

 

 

Margaret Mohlamonyane is from Nellmapius. She is 45 and has two children, Rose (27 years) and Polelo (17 years). She has one grandchild, Lethabo (1 year), whose name means Joy. Margaret is divorced. Her job is managing the Advice Office. Beneficiaries at BEAM must enter through the Advice Office. They come with all different needs, and it is Margaret’s job to refer them to the right people.

 

“I like working here because BEAM Africa is helping the community with different problems.”

 

  

Brian Matentji is from Limpopo, but he has lived in Pretoria since 1995. He is 24, single, and has no kids. He is a Care Worker at BEAM and is also involved with the children in the afternoon as a care worker who is in charge of Sports and Life Skills. He started working for Pastor Louis in 2003 with construction work, and he transitioned slowly to working at the centre full time.

 

“My favourite part of working at BEAM is playing soccer with the kids in the afternoon.”
